Relationship between leadership competencies in university education and the socio-productive environment of Physical Education and Sport
Abstract
From the effects of academic restructuring promoted by Covid-19, the university as an institution had to contemplate the acquisition of skills and tools to anticipate the future requirements of the evolution of the professional field. The objective is to relate the formation of competencies of leadership competences and the needs of the labor field in the Physical Education and Sports professional (EFyD) in the current socio-productive environment, with a prospective view.
The qualitative methodology used was based on emerging discourses in in-depth interviews, focus groups and selected institutional documentation. The analysis was carried out from the hermeneutic phenomenology of the Social Sciences, through the interpretation of the wefts of meanings, from a complex point of view.
The academic community's perception of the leadership competencies of greater institutional development are those of relationship with other people and learning management; in a third level, strategic thinking. In relation to the needs of the socio-productive environment, the competency aspect is defined in very different ways. The complexity of the social context, the changes in current working conditions and the new knowledge that exceeds the EFyD must be addressed in an interdisciplinary way through the management of constant change. The development of competencies in training and the requirements of the professional field are aligned, highlighting as part of the necessary leadership, the feeling for the profession. Passion for Physical Education and Sport is the key competence to respond to the social and productive environment.
